"Dream - The investigative team of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) arrested a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), from the NasDem faction, Ujang Iskandar (UI) at Soekarno Hatta Airport on Friday, July 26, 2024. Ujang was arrested in connection with a corruption case involving the alleged misappropriation of Capital Participation Funds from the West Kotawaringin Government to the Agrotama Mandiri Plantation State-Owned Enterprise in 2009."

Ujang's arrest was also based on a letter from the High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) of Central Kalimantan. From that letter, it appears that the former Regent of Kotawaringin Barat had actually been prevented from leaving the country. A summons letter was also sent, but Ujang did not wish to attend.

"Based on the letter of investigation order (Sprindik) Number: Prin- 02/O.2/F.d.1/09/2023 dated September 4, 2023, Ujang is suspected of being involved in corruption related to the Misappropriation of Capital Participation Funds from the Kotawaringin Barat Government to the Perusda Perkebunan Agrotama Mandiri in 2009. The case coincided with the time when Ujang was still serving as the Regent of Kotawaringin Barat for the period 2005-2015."

"Meanwhile, news is circulating on social media that Ujang was arrested after undergoing plastic surgery in Vietnam. In a post, it shows the face of a man who is believed to be Ujang. In the Instagram post @ndorobei.official, the man's face appears to have bandages on several sides. His eyes also look swollen and red."
