"Among thousands of other fossils and artifacts, this cave has a collection of prehistoric art or artifacts dating back 35,000 years ago to the Middle Ages. According to the local government, the original entrance to the cave was blocked by a landslide about 16,000 years ago, preserving the ancient remains inside and turning it into a prehistoric time capsule. Pablo Arias, a professor of prehistoric archaeology at the University of Cantabria, called it a very rare and even extraordinary phenomenon."

During the investigation, more than 4,600 objects were documented, including deer, horse, and bison bones, chisels, needles, and even pendants that may have been worn by the cave dwellers. Although this discovery is interesting, Arias stated that the residence in La Garma was not a permanent residence for Paleolithic inhabitants, as they were nomadic. "We are quite certain that such a thing did not exist at that time.
