The researchers discovered an ancient mountain hidden in the ocean with the deadliest pressure in the world. This discovery was made by a team of researchers from the Australian Government Agency and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (ISRO) while conducting a voyage in the Southern Ocean. During the research, they observed a hot current flowing towards the continent of Australia through the surface of the sea.
However, when conducting observations around the western region of Macquarie Island, researchers discovered a series of underwater mountain ranges.
The text in 'Bahasa' translates to the following in 'English' while preserving any html tags: "The underwater mountains are located approximately 13,100 feet below the sea surface, between the Tasmania and Antarctica regions, surrounded by very strong currents. Geophysics expert from SIRO, Chris Yule, identified the mountains as part of inactive volcanoes, with heights reaching nearly 5000 feet, and one of them has dual ventilation."
"Four of the mountains are new discoveries, including two underwater mountains and mountains located on a fault line," Yule revealed.
According to researchers, the mountain located in the Macquarie Ridge area is estimated to have formed about 20 million years ago, produced by a hotspot originating from the Earth's mantle layer. Quoted from News Week, Helen Philips, a researcher from the University of Tasmania, stated that this discovery will provide additional insights into ocean dynamics.
"The Antarctic Circumpolar Current, which is crossed by mountains, and when it encounters obstacles such as hills or mountains, it will 'sway'; created in the flow of water that forms whirlpools. Valleys and cliffs can also accelerate the flow at the bottom of the ocean."

Therefore, the plan for exploration and research will be expanded by the French space agency and the national space research institution, so that researchers can conduct more in-depth scanning of the ocean floor.
