Dream - Sahur is an important part of fasting worship. By having sahur, Muslims can replenish energy in their bodies and be more prepared to fast until it is time to break the fast. In fact, there are various virtues of sahur that friends of Dream can obtain if they do it. Realizing that waking up in the middle of the night to have sahur is not an easy matter. Therefore, there is a great reward when Muslims can do it well.

The first virtue of having pre-dawn meal (sahur) is to obtain blessings. This is in accordance with the explanation from a hadith of Anas bin Malik ra, where the Prophet Muhammad saw said: "Have your pre-dawn meal (sahur) as surely there is blessing in sahur." (Narrated by Bukhari)

The special virtue for those who have suhoor is to receive blessings from the angels. As the Prophet Muhammad said: "Having suhoor is a blessing, so do not abandon it, even if it's just a sip of water, because Allah and the angels send blessings upon those who have suhoor." (HR. Ahmad)

During sahur time is the right moment to pray to Allah SWT. Insha Allah, during this time, prayers will be easier to be granted by Allah SWT. The Prophet Muhammad said, "Our Lord, the Most Blessed and Exalted, descends to the lower heaven in the last third of the night. Then He says, 'Whoever prays to Me, I will answer him. Whoever asks of Me, I will give him. Whoever seeks My forgiveness, I will forgive him.'" (Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

The first sunnah during sahur is eating and drinking. Yes, when waking up for sahur, try to consume food and drinks adequately. Because by eating, Dream's friend will gain energy while fasting. It has even been explained before that having sahur can bring blessings.

The second Sunnah during Sahur is to engage in remembrance of Allah. This is the perfect time to draw closer to Allah SWT and seek His forgiveness. This is directly explained by Allah SWT in Surah Az-Zariyat, verse 18: "And they used to seek forgiveness before dawn." Although it is not specified, the time before dawn has indicated the time when Muslims usually have their Sahur.

Apart from remembering Allah, Dream friends should also not forget to pray during sahur. This is the right time to convey your wishes to Allah SWT. As explained in the hadith narrated by Bukhari and Muslim. That whoever prays, Allah SWT will grant it. Whoever asks from Allah SWT, will be given. And whoever seeks forgiveness, Allah SWT will forgive.

"The next Sunnah during sahur is to delay the sahur meal. This is what the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did during sahur. He did it when approaching the time of dawn. As explained in the following hadith: 'My nation will always be in goodness as long as they delay the sahur meal and hasten to break their fast.' (Narrated by Ahmad)"

Nah, it is recommended to have suhoor about 15 minutes before imsak. In another hadith it is also explained: "Three things are part of the manners of the Prophets, which are hastening to break the fast, delaying suhoor, and placing the right hand over the left hand during prayer." (HR. Thabrani)

Performing the Tahajud prayer and reading the Al-Quran is recommended to be done after eating Sahur before dawn. This practice is capable of bringing rewards for Dream's friends. Moreover, in this month of Ramadan, the rewards from every practice will be multiplied by Allah SWT. Are you willing to just let it pass by?
