This discovery marks the first time a bullet with the initials Gaius Julius Caesar (CAES) has been found in the Iberian Peninsula. Additionally, it is the first catapult bullet discovered with the name of a place written on it. In fact, it is the first catapult bullet discovered with the name of a Roman city written on it.

According to the Arkeonews website, this discovery occurred thanks to research conducted by Javier Moralejo and Jesuss Robles from the Autonomous University of Madrid, along with Anonio Moreno from the Cabra Archaeological Museum and Jose Antonio Moreno from the Baena History Museum. The catapult bullet was found 19 kilometers away from Baena, in the rural area of Montilla, which is inhabited by approximately 23,000 people and located in the autonomous region of Andalusia.

There are inscriptions of IPSCA and CAES engraved on both sides. Such inscriptions on the first catapult bullet were first used from the 5th century BC in Greece until the Roman era. In its history, such catapults were popular during the ancient Greek and Roman times.
