Dream - The congregation of Aolia Mosque in Panggang, Giriharjo, Gunungkidul, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) performed Eid al-Fitr prayers today, Friday, April 5, 2024. The implementation of Eid al-Fitr prayers by the congregation of Aolia Mosque is five days earlier than the government's version of Eid, which is likely to fall on April 10, 2024.

The implementation of the Idul Fitri prayer follows the command of Imam Masjid Aolia, KH Ibnu Hajar Sholeh Pranolo or affectionately called Mbah Benu.

Idul Fitri prayer congregation at Aolia Mosque in Giriharjo was held in two places, namely at Mbah Benu's house and at Aolia Mosque which is located about 50 meters from Mbah Benu's house. At 06:00 AM, the congregation had started to arrive. In fact, Mbah Benu's house was crowded with the congregation. The remaining congregation went to Aolia Mosque considering there were still many empty spaces. Idul Fitri prayer started at 07:00 AM and finished at 07:30 AM.

It is known that the Aolia congregation in Panggang District, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, started fasting for Ramadan earlier on Thursday, March 7, 2024. They believe that Wednesday night marked the beginning of the month of Ramadan in the year 1445 Hijriah, so they have already performed the first tarawih prayer.

Mbah Benu said that the initial determination of the fasting month of Ramadan is in accordance with the spiritual guidance he received.

"Our congregation starts fasting on the 1st of Ramadan on Thursday, because in Islamic calendar, the next day begins after Maghrib," said Mbah Benu. According to him, the difference in determining the start of Ramadan fasting is not a problem. It is a matter of individual beliefs."
