Their relationship, which has lasted for 10 years, became gloomy on New Year's Eve. At that time, RL expressed his dissatisfaction with the reduced attention given by Eca all this time.

The conflict was inevitable on the night of the New Year's Eve. RL felt that Eca no longer gave enough attention to him lately. This decreasing attention made RL annoyed and upset.

After arguing on New Year's Eve, RL and Eca separated. However, RL apparently was not satisfied with his lover's explanation.

RL then returned to Eca's house before the New Year's Eve. "The perpetrator returned to Eca's house, but Eca was not at home. RL suspected that Eca had a relationship with someone else because he was not at home," explained Randhya.

Because he was angry, RL acted recklessly. He set fire to Eca's house walls made of plywood. Of course, the fire quickly spread and caused Eca's house to burn down.

Fortunately, the fire incident occurred when the house was empty. It turns out that the victim and their child were staying at their other family's house.

RL was arrested in the Selumit area on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 15.30 Wita and taken to the Tarakan Regional Police Headquarters. "From the results of a brief examination, RL admitted to feeling hurt by his girlfriend, whom he had been dating for almost 10 years." RL felt that he did not receive adequate attention from his girlfriend and her family," said Randhya. As a result of his actions, RL is charged with Article 187 paragraph 1 with a maximum prison sentence of 12 years.
