According to Imam Al Ghazali, there are two permissible qualities of envy in Islam. This is as explained in the saying of the Prophet Muhammad: "Envy (hasad) is not allowed, except for two things. First, someone whom Allah has blessed with the ability to recite the Quran and they continue to recite it day and night. Second, someone whom Allah has blessed with a lot of wealth and they continue to spend it day and night." (HR.
