- The General Election Commission (KPU) stated that the recapitulation results of the 2024 Presidential Election in South Sumatra (Sumsel) remain valid even though they are not signed by the witnesses of candidate pair number 1, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, and candidate pair number 3, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md.

Although so, Mellaz asserts that vote counting without witnesses is still valid because there are authentic documents, such as Form C results and Form D results. "Of course (it is still valid)," he said.

In the open plenary meeting of the previous vote recapitulation, the witness of the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) pair refused to sign the Form D results and the minutes at the provincial level in South Sumatra.

The same action was also taken by the witnesses, Ganjar-Mahfud's couple. Andika said, witnesses Ganjar-Mahfud objected because they considered the 2024 Presidential Election to have undermined the democratic system that has been built so far.

They objected to the entire election process which was suspected to be full of legal engineering, involvement of authorities, misuse of social assistance, intimidation, and money politics that made the election undemocratic.
