The viral incident was confirmed by Metro Setiabudi Police Chief, Commissioner Firman. He explained that before the perpetrator drove away the police car that was on patrol, the officers were indeed approaching the crowd at the location. "After being secured by security, the patrol members passed by, then there was a commotion and the police came to the security post," said Firman when contacted on Friday, March 29, 2024, as quoted from Liputan6.com.

When approaching the crowd at the location, it was known that the perpetrator insisted on denying the accusation of snatching. That attitude provoked the emotions of the residents, so the officers tried to secure the perpetrator by putting him into a still running car.

After trying to escape for an hour, the perpetrator left the police car which was eventually found abandoned in the Kemayoran area. Currently, the police are still hunting down the suspect. "Yes. We have secured the vehicle (police car) but we are currently investigating the suspect," he added.
