Luhut Responds to the Issue of Many Ministers Resigning: Please, Already Offered but Not Resigning

Dream - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, responds to the rampant issue of several ministers in the Indonesia Maju Cabinet wanting to resign.

Ministers who are rumored to resign include Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, and the most recent one, Minister of Home Affairs Mahfud MD.

However, Luhut ensures that until now no minister has officially submitted their resignation, including Sri Mulyani. "There is none, I still meet her well," he said.

As known, the issue of the resignation of dozens of ministers from the Jokowi-Maruf cabinet has been widely discussed in recent days. This was first announced by senior economist Faisal Basri during a discussion event in Jakarta.

According to him, Sri Mulyani is the minister who is morally most ready to resign from the cabinet. Faisal assesses that ministers from technocrat circles like Sri Mulyani are ready to resign due to the issue of presidential support in the presidential election. There are a total of 15 ministers, including Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, Public Works and Housing Minister, and Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.

After becoming a national issue, Sri Mulyani finally speaks up. She denies the issue of resignation. She asserts that she is still working according to her duties and obligations. "I am working, I am working," said Sri Mulyani, on Friday, January 19, 2024.
