Dream - Sahabat Dream has witnessed the struggle of healthcare workers (nakes) caring for patients during the Covid-19 era. There are many who are willing to sacrifice their lives while carrying out their duties, as their job is indeed very risky.
The struggle of healthcare workers does not stop in the time of Covid-19. Many of them work in remote areas, far from adequate healthcare access, and face greater difficulties in referring patients to hospitals in the city. This was revealed by a midwife named Dewi Yanti, who is stationed on an island. Through an uploaded video, she showed how difficult it was to refer her patients to hospitals in South Sulawesi using a boat.
Certainly, the struggle is not easy. He had to brave the bad weather to bring his patient who was still on an IV. "Helping the mother and baby to safely reach the hospital requires a struggle through bad weather," he wrote in his TikTok post.
In the boat, there were several women and men who were equally resigned to facing the journey. "The risk of living and working in the archipelago... we are already accustomed to big waves."
Initially, the weather seemed clear, but suddenly the sky turned dark. The waves became very high. Although they had to navigate through big waves that made everyone on the boat panic, they prioritized the safety of the mother and baby until they reached the referral hospital.
"Even in other posts, Dewi shows the moment when referring to patients at night using a boat and holding an infusion tube. No wonder some nurses are exhausted and fall asleep in the boat while on duty."
