Dream - Hypocrisy is one of the qualities that Allah SWT detests. Therefore, Muslims should avoid this bad trait. Hypocrisy itself is the quality of someone showing goodness and truthfulness to others. But deep down in their heart, they do not like that action. So, they are just pretending. Muslims must be cautious of this hypocritical trait because it is more dangerous than disbelievers.

That is, openly to others with what they actually believe or do in their hearts. In Islam, hypocritical behavior is considered highly undesirable and contrary to the principles of honesty, sincerity, and loyalty. Hypocrites are also defined as someone who hides their disbelief or disobedience to Islamic principles behind a facade of good appearance and behavior in front of others.

They may show support or obedience to the teachings of Islam outwardly, but in reality, they do not sincerely follow it in their hearts and actions. In the Quran and the hadith of Prophet Muhammad, the condition of hypocrites is often depicted as something highly undesirable and dangerous, as they tend to deceive and mislead others. Therefore, honesty, sincerity, and consistency between faith in the heart and visible behavior are greatly emphasized in the teachings of Islam.

He explained that hypocrites will experience torment in their graves. In a hadith narrated by Imam Bukhari, the Prophet Muhammad said: "Indeed, two animals will devour the person in the grave due to their falsehood and lies, namely the prostitute and the liar." In addition, the Prophet Muhammad also revealed the characteristics of hypocrites, including the habit of lying, breaking promises, being untrustworthy, and causing discord.

"Rasulullah emphasized that Allah SWT will punish hypocrites in the grave for their actions and negative qualities that they displayed during their lifetime. By revealing the punishment for hypocrites in the grave, Rasulullah warned his people not to fall into hypocritical behavior and to strive to stay away from it."

First, they tend to be hypocritical towards Allah and His Messenger, meaning they show faith but their hearts are filled with disbelief. Second, hypocrites also tend to lie and deceive others. They cannot be trusted in their words and actions. The third characteristic of hypocrites is their treacherous and untrustworthy behavior. They often break promises and have a dishonest nature.

Fourth, they tend to blame others and not take responsibility for their own mistakes. Fifth, hypocrites also often show disloyalty in relationships, whether it be in marriage or friendship. Finally, the most obvious characteristic of a hypocrite is that they have a double-faced nature, displaying different attitudes in front of others and behind them.

By understanding these characteristics, we can be more cautious of hypocritical behavior around us and strive to distance ourselves from them. The Quran and hadith provide clear guidance on the prohibition of hypocritical behavior, including lying and betrayal.

Allah SWT said in Surah Al-Munafiqun verse 1: "When they are called to the faith by Allah and His Messenger to judge between them, a party of them refuses and turns away." This emphasizes the importance of remaining consistent in faith and righteous deeds.

The signs of a hypocrite are three, namely when he speaks lies, when he breaks his promise, and when he betrays the trust.

By following the teachings of the Qur'an and the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad, Muslims can avoid hypocritical traits in their daily lives. This will create a society that is full of honesty and mutual trust, in accordance with the teachings of Islam that prioritize goodness and truth.
