In a hadith, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said that a person who is able to control themselves when angry is a strong person, not someone who wins in a fight. This shows that restraining oneself when angry is a noble action in Islam. One story that illustrates this virtue is when Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was mistreated by the people of Thaif.

"Although the Prophet received such treatment with patience and did not respond with anger, Allah SWT still offers help and forgiveness to the people of Thaif. This shows that by restraining oneself when angry, one can achieve goodness and mercy from Allah SWT. In another hadith, Prophet Muhammad also taught the prohibition of anger, as anger can cause Allah SWT's dissatisfaction."

He also teaches ways to overcome anger, including by performing ablution or changing sitting positions when angry. Therefore, restraining oneself when angry is one of the virtues taught in Islam, which can bring goodness and blessings from Allah SWT.

Controlling emotions: Immediately seek inner peace to face someone who is angry. Allowing them to speak: Listen attentively to understand the reasons behind their anger. Understanding the speaker's perspective: Put oneself in the position of the angry person to better understand the intensity of their anger. Calming anger: Use calming sentences that do not trigger further emotions.

Apologize: If it is proven that we triggered anger, sincerely apologize to create peace. Show empathy: Express understanding and concern towards the feelings of the angry person. Offer solutions: Seek a good and fair way to resolve the problem that caused the anger. Speak gently: Convey opinions or clarifications with gentle and non-offensive words.

Avoiding confrontation: Keeping away from situations that can trigger further arguments. Praying for patience: Praying for strength and patience in dealing with angry individuals. Acting according to religious teachings: Remembering Islamic teachings to uphold peace and to approach everything with love and compassion. By implementing these methods, it is hoped that peace can be maintained in human relationships in accordance with Islamic teachings.
