According to its official website, PT Pertamina EP (PEP) has discovered potential reserves of oil and natural gas from two exploration wells in West Java Province. Among them are the East Akasia Cinta (EAC)-001 well in the PEP Jatibarang Field working area, Indramayu Regency, and the EPN-001 well in the PEP Tambun Field working area, Bekasi Regency.

The rig was declared released from Well EAC-001 on November 28, 2023, with a total of 85 operational days realized. This operational success is also reflected in the high implementation of HSSE Culture with a total of 155,016 safe working hours achieved.

This drilling targets the reservoir of the Carbonate Formation of Lower Cibulakan, successfully flowing oil and gas during the second DST with an oil rate of 402 BOPD and a gas rate of 1.09 MMSCFD at a depth of 2,590 mMD. This hydrocarbon discovery is a manifestation of the Company's massive and aggressive exploration strategy.

The drilling of the EPN-001 well also serves as proof of a new play or concept in the form of a stratigraphic trap in the Lower Cibulakan Formation, Ciputat Sub-basin.
