"Unlike lions and cheetahs in Africa that track or run across open plains in pursuit of prey, the clouded leopard has a more arboreal lifestyle, having adapted to live in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. This tree-dwelling lifestyle has led them to have extraordinary ankle flexibility, which they can rotate almost 180 degrees. This remarkable flexibility in their joints allows them to descend from tree trunks headfirst."
The translation of "Memanjat Pohon dan Bergelantungan" to English is "Climbing Trees and Hanging".
"In the enclosure, these cats appear to climb upside down along the horizontal branches and hang with their back legs, allowing them to jump down to chase prey below, although scientists believe that they primarily hunt on the ground."
The clouded leopard has short, muscular legs, a small body with a length between 27 to 42.5 inches.
Its weight can reach between 25 to 50 pounds (11-23 kilograms).
The translation of "Memiliki Taring Terbesar" to English is "Having the Largest Fangs."
"The clouded leopard also has the largest upper canines among all living cats, relative to their body size. A study published on October 6 in the journal Science Advances noted that their tooth proportions are similar to some extinct saber-toothed species."
The translation of "Cara Membunuh Mangsa" to English is "How to Kill Prey".
"When taking down large prey, the tree tiger does not kill with a bite to the throat, unlike their big cat cousins. Instead, they bite the back of the neck to kill the prey, severing the spinal cord."
The translation of "Berbeda dengan Macan Dahan Sunda" to English is "Different from the Sunda Clouded Leopard."
"In 2006, researchers discovered that the clouded leopard is actually two different species, with the one now named the Sunda clouded leopard (N. diardi) endemic to the islands of Sumatra and Borneo."
"The clouded leopard lives in dense forests in South and Southeast Asia, showing remarkable adaptations for life in the treetops,"
"Wai-Ming Wong, director of small cat conservation science for Panthera, a global wild cat conservation organization."
"However, deforestation and agricultural expansion threaten many habitats available throughout its range. It is crucial to develop effective conservation management plans that involve various stakeholders from local communities to government agencies to protect the future of this charismatic species,""
add Wong, in Live Science.
