Dream - As a believing Muslim, surely you do not want to be punished in the grave later. The punishment is given to those who do not obey the commands of Allah SWT. Therefore, as Muslims, we should always draw closer to Allah SWT and do everything He commands, including reciting prayers to be saved from the punishment of the grave. As explained in the words of Allah SWT in Surah Gafir verse 60: "Pray to Me, and I will answer your prayers. Indeed, those who are arrogant and refuse to worship Me will enter Hell in a state of humiliation."
By reading the prayer to be saved from the torment of the grave, God willing, Dream friends will be saved from that painful torment. Of course, it is also accompanied by performing various recommended deeds.
The following is a prayer reading to be saved from the torment of the grave as summarized by Dream through various sources.
Every Muslim who is concerned about the torment of the grave in the hereafter, it is important to always practice the prayer to be protected from the torment of the grave.
Here is the translation of the text: "Here is the reading of the prayer that you can practice in your daily life: Allahumma inni 'audzubika min 'azabil qobi wamin 'azabinnar wamin fitnatil mahyaa wal mamati wamin fitnatil masiihiddajjal. Meaning: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and from the punishment of the Hellfire, and from the trials of life and death, and from the mischief of the Dajjal." In addition, my friend Dream can also recite the prayer to be protected from the trial of the Dajjal as follows: اللهم إني أعوذ بك من عذاب القبر ومن عذاب النار ومن فتنة المحيا والممات ومن فتنة المسيح الدجال"
"Allaahumma inni a'uudzubika min 'adzaabil qabri wa min 'adzaabinnaari jahannama wa min fitnatil mahyaa wal mamaati wa min fitnatil masiihid dajjaal. Artinya: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, from the punishment of Hellfire, from the trials of life and death, and from the evil trials of the Dajjal.'"
There are several recommended practices that are believed to help a person be protected from the torment of the grave. Here are some of them:
Night prayer or tahajud is one of the highly recommended worship. Allah SWT says in the Qur'an, Surah Al-Isra' verse 79, that night prayer can be the cause for someone to be placed in a praiseworthy position in the hereafter.
Performing the sunnah rawatib prayers, both before and after the obligatory prayers, can also be a practice that draws one closer to Allah and protects from the torment of the grave.
"Rasulullah (peace be upon him) said that reciting Surah Al-Mulk every night can save a person from the torment of the grave. Therefore, Dream's friends should always make time to read Surah Al-Mulk before going to sleep."
Always pray to Allah SWT to be kept away from the torment of the grave. Sahabat Dream can practice the above prayer and recite it every day. Especially after completing the obligatory prayers.
Donating sincerely is also a highly recommended practice and believed to be a means to be kept away from the torment of the grave. Donating itself is one of the commandments in Islam and also shows concern for others, especially those in need.
"Always seek forgiveness and repent to Allah SWT for all sins and mistakes that have been committed. Istighfar and repentance should be done frequently. This can also bring peace to our lives."
By practicing these sunnahs, it is hoped that we can be kept away from the torment of the grave and obtain mercy and forgiveness from Allah SWT.
