"Dream - Everyone certainly hopes for a good fate that comes into their life. However, fate is a decision that has been determined by Allah SWT. Therefore, everyone cannot escape from His fate. However, in the teachings of Islam, Allah SWT commands humans to do all things that are good and to avoid things that are bad."

"In addition, Allah SWT has also given intellect to humans so that they can distinguish between what is good and what is bad. Therefore, this intellect can be used to follow the guidance of Allah SWT and avoid things that are forbidden by Him. But, can the destiny that Allah SWT has already determined be changed by using prayer? The future destiny is what can be changed by humans through praying to Allah SWT. As for the destiny that has already happened, it cannot be changed anymore. We can strive by seeking His help through prayer."

The following is a prayer reading to change destiny for the better and a practice to change destiny that Sahabat Dream can perform:

Prayer to Transform Everything into Good Destiny

Prayer is one of the efforts to change destiny for the better in the future. Allah SWT will grant the prayer of a servant who asks for goodness, and not for evil. So, in the prayer to change everything into a good destiny, it contains asking for goodness from Allah SWT.

The following is a prayer to change everything into good fate as requested by the Prophet Muhammad SAW and taught by the Prophet's companion, Abu Umamah: لَّهُمَّ إنِّي أسَألُكَ مِنْ خَيْر مَا سَأَلَكَ مِنْهُ نَبِيُّكَ محمَّيُ – صلى الله عليه وسلم – ؛ وأعوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا استَعَاذَ مِنْهُ نَبِيُّكَ مُحَمَّدٌ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -، وأنتَ المُسْتَعانُ ، وَعَليْكَ البَلاَغُ ، وَلاٞ حَولَ وَلاٞ قُوَّةَ إِلاّٞ بالله攊llahumma inni as-aluka min khairi maa sa'alaka minhu nabiyyuka Muhammad shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam. Wa a’udzu bika min syarri masta’aadza minhu nabiyyuka Muhammad shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam. Wa antal musta’aan, wa’alaikal balaagh, wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa billah.

Translation: "It means: 'O Allah, I truly ask You for the goodness that Your Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked of You. And I seek refuge in You from the evil that Your Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sought refuge from. And only You can be asked for help, and Allah is sufficient (to fulfill worldly and hereafter hopes, and there is no power or effort except with Your help, O Allah.'"

Apart from the above prayer, there is another prayer to seek good fate from Allah SWT. Read the following prayer to seek good fate as taught by the Prophet Muhammad saw from Ummul Mukminin Aisha radhiyallahu 'anha:

"Allahumma inni as-aluka minal khairi kullihi 'aajilihi wa aajilihi, maa 'alimtu minhu wa maa lam a'lam. Wa a'udzu bika minasy syarri kullihi 'aajilih wa aajilih maa 'alimtu minhu wa maa lam a'lam. Allahumma inni as-aluka min khairi maa sa-alaka 'abduka wa nabiyyuka muhammadun shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Wa a'udzu bika min syarri maa 'aadza bihi 'abduka wa nabiyyuka. Allahumma inni as-alukal jannah wa maa qorroba ilaihaa min qaulin aw 'amal. Wa 'audzu bika minan naari wa maa qorroba ilaihaa min qaulin aw 'amal. Wa as-aluka an taj'ala kulla qodhoo-in qodhoitahu lii khairan." Translation: "O Allah, I ask You for all good, both immediate and delayed, that which I know and that which I do not know. And I seek refuge in You from all evil, both immediate and delayed, that which I know and that which I do not know. O Allah, I ask You for the good that Your servant and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked You for. And I seek refuge in You from the evil that Your servant and Prophet sought refuge from. O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and whatever brings me closer to it in speech or action. And I seek refuge in You from the Hellfire and whatever brings me closer to it in speech or action. And I ask You to make every decree that You decree for me good."

Meaning:

"O Allah, I beseech You for Paradise and whatever brings me closer to it, whether in words or actions. And I seek refuge in You from Hellfire and whatever brings me closer to it, whether in words or actions. And I ask You for all the decrees that You have determined for me, whether they are good for me." (Narrated by Ibn Majah, no. 3846, and Ahmad, 6:133. Al-Hafizh Abu Thahir stated that the chain of this hadith is authentic)

Practice to Change Fate for the Better

1. Increase Prayer

The first way to change destiny is through prayer. Destiny is the decree of Allah SWT and it is Allah SWT who has the power to change the destiny of His servants. However, destiny cannot be changed easily. Sahabat Dream also has to make an effort through prayer. Through prayer, Allah SWT will provide guidance in actions and thoughts. So, besides praying, Sahabat Dream can also take actions to change that destiny in the future.

2. Donate with Sincerity

The second way to change fate is by giving alms. Alms cannot be considered simple. Behind giving alms, there are special privileges that friends of Dream can obtain in the future and are able to change your fate for the better. So that you can be saved from bad fates. This is also explained in a hadith as follows: "Keeping good relations can prolong life and alms can change a predestined fate." (HR. Bukhari, Muslim, At-Tirmidzi, Imam Ahmad)

3. Diligently Recite Tasbih

The third way to change destiny is by doing tasbih (praising God). It has even been explained in a hadith that if someone utilizes a prayer taught by Prophet Muhammad, then Allah SWT will remove sadness and disasters from that person. Here is the wording of the hadith and its prayer:

"Do you want me to tell you a prayer, which if you use it when you are struck by sadness or disaster, then Allah will remove that sadness?" The companions answered, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." The Prophet said, "It is the prayer of Dzun-Nun: 'La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minadh-dhalimin (There is no god but You, glory be to You, indeed I am among the wrongdoers),' (HR. Imam Ahmad, At-Turmudzi, and Al-Hakim)."

4. Bersholawat

The last way that Dream's friend can do to change destiny is by reciting sholawat. Sholawat itself, besides being able to provide inner peace, can also eliminate sadness, and sins can be forgiven by Allah SWT. In addition, another reward for those who recite sholawat is to be saved by Allah SWT.
