But what impressed him the most and gave him goosebumps was when the laboratory where he worked received a shipment of a giant Burmese python carcass. He admitted that he found it difficult to forget the moment after dissecting the giant Burmese python and receiving a surprising bonus.

The American woman then tells the story of how the Burmese python snake ended up in her laboratory in Florida, United States. Farmers found a 5.4-meter long Burmese python snake while they were spraying weed killer in the Everglades.

"Perhaps afraid of something bad happening, they decapitated the Burmese python and handed its carcass over to the laboratory. They suspected that the Burmese python may have already swallowed a human when they saw its bloated stomach. At first, they only sent a photo and said, 'We have already injected this python with a lethal dose... its stomach is very large,' " Rosie reminisced.

"Rosie is increasingly feeling nervous because the discovery happened after viral news about a giant python snake swallowing a human in Indonesia. 'So I think they thought it was a human or something. They sent it to us. They wanted the laboratory to dissect it,' said Rosie."

When seeing the condition of the dead reptile herself, Rosie thought that the Burmese python had swallowed a large mammal, like a deer. However, how surprised Rosie was, who at that time was assigned to document the process of the Burmese python surgery.

When dissecting the belly of a Burmese python, the team found a giant alligator in a still intact condition. "We knew after one of the alligator's legs emerged from the python's belly during the dissection," Rosie revealed.

The size of the python is so big that it doesn't fit on the laboratory operating table. So it has to be spread out on the laboratory floor for the necropsy process.

Amazed by the Power of the Alligator's Protective Plate

Rosie said she and her colleagues were both amazed and terrified by the discovery of the intact alligator inside the Burmese python's stomach. But Rosie was amazed by the strength of the alligator's spinal bone plates, which were able to withstand the snake's digestive fluids and keep it intact.

"The alligator may have been there for at least one or two weeks because its soft tissues have already decayed." However, the bone plates are still intact even though they have been there for quite some time before eventually decomposing," explained Rosie."

Rosie assumed that the alligator did not die immediately after being swallowed whole by the Burmese python. However, the python continued to squeeze it so tightly that the alligator died due to a burst blood vessel in its brain.

At present, the python snake is spreading further to the southern states of the US. Its sightings are also increasingly reported on social media. The python snake is not a native reptile of America and is considered an invasive species that threatens the conservation of wildlife in the area.
