Dream - The world was created by Allah SWT as a place of residence for every living creature. In this worldly life, the existence of humans as beings endowed with reason, it is only right to perform the deeds commanded by Allah SWT. Every action and deed performed during one's lifetime will be held accountable in the afterlife. Whether a person will receive rewards as a result of their good deeds or be punished for their actions in this world. According to Imam Al Ghazali, life in this world is not the ultimate goal of life.
However, there is still an eternal afterlife. In this regard, there are several types of humans in facing worldly life according to Imam Al Ghazali as summarized by Dream through various sources.
Type of Human in Facing the World's Life
There are three types of humans in facing worldly life according to Imam Al Ghazali as follows:
First Type of Human
The following is the translation of the provided 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any HTML tags: "The first type of human is those who forget their ultimate destination, which is the afterlife. They make the world their sole purpose in life. These are the people who will suffer loss and face destruction when they are in the presence of Allah SWT in the afterlife."
"Second Type of Human"
The following is the translation of the given 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving the HTML tags: "The second type of human being is those who make their place of return in the afterlife their sole purpose. They are the people who do not prioritize or make the world their goal in life. Instead, they focus on matters of the afterlife and the happiness that they will obtain in the future. These are the people who will eventually attain true fortune."
Third Type of Human
The following is the translation of the 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "The third type of human being is those who take the middle path between worldly life and the afterlife. They are confident that their purpose is to return to the realm of the afterlife. It will happen for sure. Nevertheless, they also continue to carry out their activities in the world, such as seeking a livelihood. In addition, this type of human being believes that those who cannot take the straight path in seeking a living will not find happiness. Both in this world and in the hereafter."
"Human Duties in the World according to Islam"
"In Islam, the duties of humans in the world have several important aspects as follows:"
1. Worshiping Allah SWT
Human beings in Islam are sent to serve Allah SWT. This involves obedience to Him, carrying out His commands, and avoiding His prohibitions. Worship is not only limited to rituals such as prayer, fasting, and pilgrimage, but also includes other aspects of life such as behaving well, acting justly, and doing good to others.
2. Developing Oneself
Human beings in Islam are directed to develop the potential and talents given by Allah. This includes education, increasing knowledge, and skill development to become better in various aspects of life.
3. Preserving the Environment
Humans are considered as caliphs or representatives of Allah on earth. Therefore, they have a responsibility to preserve and care for the universe, including the environment and other creatures. This includes maintaining the sustainability of nature, avoiding resource wastage, and behaving responsibly towards the earth.
4. Maintaining Social Relationships
Islam emphasizes the importance of good social relationships. Humans are obligated to interact with fellow humans with love, respect, and assistance. This includes sharing blessings, helping those in need, and avoiding actions that harm others.
5. Carrying the Trust
The following is the translation of the given 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving the HTML tags: Human beings in Islam are considered as holders of trust, namely the trust of religion and the trust of the world. The trust of religion includes performing worship and following the teachings of Islam as a whole, while the trust of the world includes responsibilities towards family, society, and the environment of residence.
6. Upholding Justice
One of the main duties of humans in Islam is to establish justice in society. This includes being fair in all matters, advocating for the rights of others, and avoiding discriminatory treatment towards anyone.
