Jaja asserts that the rule regarding the prohibition of backpacker umrah is contrary to Law No. 8 of 2019 Article 86, which specifically discusses the pilgrimage journey of umrah that must go through the Umrah Worship Organizer (PPIU).

"Besides, it is the country's duty to protect the security of its citizens, both domestically and abroad. For pilgrims who have never experienced going to Saudi Arabia, it would certainly be very dangerous considering the risky risks in performing Umrah. If anything happens, who will be responsible for their safety?,"

Jaja added, it is suspected that there is a role of PPIU in independent umrah and backpacker cases. If proven, the PPIU will be strictly sanctioned by revoking its permit.
