"Until today, we still do not know what it is," said Borleis. The event known as HURT 100 is a race of 32 kilometers through the rainforest with five laps.

"After dinner, we returned to the Airbnb and Cassie received a text message from her mother. It was about one of the photos Cassie had sent. It was a live photo showing a dark figure in a cloak moving past me while I was running," Borelis explained. "My memory is quite poor during the race and afterwards, but I don't remember passing anyone on that track. Cassie also didn't notice it," he added."

"After conducting further research, we found that the ancient Hawaiian principle asserts that anyone who looks at or is looked at by the Marchers will die in a terrible and brutal way. Some people state that if a mortal creature lies still on the ground, bowing to the Marchers, they show the respect, fear, and honor due to the Night Marchers; and they will be forgiven."

Borelis said, 'Fortunately, we did not see what is referred to as Night Marchers.' According to Honolulu Magazine, Night Marchers are the ghosts of ancient Hawaiian warriors. 'In life, these warriors supposedly traveled at night to protect people who were so sacred that ordinary people were never allowed to see them. Breaking that rule means death,' the magazine said.
