"Dream - A toddler fell around the Karet Station bridge, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, on Friday, August 23, 2024. The event occurred at 08:30 AM WIB, when personnel from the Satpol PP of Tanah Abang District were dispersing street vendors (PKL) in front of Karet Station, precisely around the Karet Station bridge. Suddenly, a resident shouted that a baby had fallen to the edge of the river. "Members of the Satpol PP of Tanah Abang District were dispersing PKL in front of Karet Station when suddenly a resident shouted, there is a baby fallen at the edge of the BKB river," wrote the DKI Satpol PP account, quoted on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
"Hearing the screams of the residents, members of the Satpol PP immediately went down to the edge of the BKB river bridge to help the baby who had fallen. The baby was successfully brought back up safely despite sustaining injuries. 'Suraji, a member of the Satpol PP of Tanah Abang District, assisted a small child who had fallen around the Karet Station Bridge. The Satpol PP members immediately descended to the location to rescue the baby and brought them back up,' he wrote."
From the video, it can be seen that the baby is lying under the cliff with tree roots hanging over the edge of the cliff. The cliff is steep with a height of more than 2 meters. The baby fell onto a rectangular concrete surface at the riverbank.
The baby was actually being cared for by his father, while his mother was selling. However, the chronology of how the baby fell is not explained. It was only mentioned that the baby had been taken to the community health center for treatment. "Meanwhile, the baby was taken by family members to the Bendungan Hilir Community Health Center in the Tanah Abang District because there were injuries," he concluded.
