Dream - Merukiah the house in Islam is one of the recommended practices to maintain and protect the house from disturbances of jinn and supernatural beings. In Islam, the house is supposed to provide tranquility, comfort, and a sense of security for its inhabitants. However, it is not uncommon to hear about disturbances from unseen beings that can disrupt that tranquility. Therefore, it is important for every Muslim to know and practice ways to merukiah the house in order to avoid disturbances from jinn.
To translate the given 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any HTML tags: "Merukiah rumah bukanlah praktik yang berlebihan atau takhayul, melainkan bagian dari sunnah Nabi Muhammad saw yang telah memberikan panduan tentang perlindungan diri dan lingkungan dari gangguan gaib." The translation is as follows: "Merukiah (seeking blessings for) a house is not an excessive or superstitious practice, but rather a part of the tradition of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who has provided guidance on protecting oneself and the environment from supernatural disturbances."
In many hadiths, the Prophet Muhammad taught various prayers and recitations from the Quran that can be used to bless a house. Some of them include reciting Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayatul Kursi, and protective prayers taught by the Prophet. By regularly blessing the house, we seek the protection of Allah SWT to keep away any form of disturbance from jinn and devils. As a result, our house becomes a place filled with blessings, tranquility, and peace for all its occupants. Now, here is how to bless a house as summarized by Dream through various sources.
"How to Cleanse a House to be Free from Jin Disturbances"
1. Reading Surah Al-Baqarah
One way to bless a house is by reading the full Surah Al-Baqarah. If Dream's friend is unable to read the Quran, it can be represented by someone else. Don't forget, before reading the Quran, it is better to perform ablution first to be free from impurities. This recommendation has been explained in a hadith, where the Prophet Muhammad said: "
"\u201cDo not make your homes like graves. Indeed, the devil runs away from a house in which Surah Al-Baqarah is recited.\u201d - (HR. Muslim 780, At-Turmudzi 2877)\u201cIndeed, when the devil hears Surah Al-Baqarah being recited in a house, he will leave that house.\u201d - (HR. Ad-Darimi 3422, At-thabrani in Mu\u2019jam Al-Kabir 8642)"
2. Reading Short Letters
The second way is by reading the short letters that exist in the Al-Quran. In fact, those letters are the ones that are often read by Muslims. However, there are several short letters that are recommended as rukiah readings. Those letters consist of Al-Fatihah, 10 verses of Al-Baqarah, the Throne Verse, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas.
This is explained in the following hadith: "Whoever recites 10 verses from Surah Al-Baqarah in their house, then the devil will not enter that house throughout the night until morning. These are the first four verses, the verse of the Throne, the two verses after it, and the conclusion." - (HR. Thabarani in Mu'jam al-Kabir no. 8592)
3. Diligent in Worship and Reading the Quran
The third way is where the residents of the house diligently worship and read the Quran. Whether it is obligatory worship or voluntary worship regularly at home. The Prophet Muhammad said, "Make your homes part of your prayers. Do not make your homes like graves." - (HR. Bukhari 432, Muslim 777, and others) Through the above hadith, the Prophet Muhammad commanded the Muslim ummah to not let their homes be empty of worship. Instead, they should be filled with worship and reading of the Quran.
4. Do not be disturbed by Satan's interference.
"As a homeowner, one should not be concerned about disturbances from demons. When the presence of demons is acknowledged, they will feel pleased. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, 'Do not say 'may the devil be cursed' because if you say so, the devil will become bigger like a house. Then the devil, with arrogance, will say, 'All of this happened because of my power.' However, say 'Bismillah' (In the name of Allah). If you say this, the devil will become smaller until it becomes like a fly.' - (HR. Ahmad 5:95 and Abu Daud 4982 and authenticated by al-Albani)"
5. Always Remembering Allah SWT
As Muslims, we should always remember Allah SWT in any condition. Whether it's when entering the house or before eating. Remembering Allah SWT is by not forgetting to pray to Him. As the Prophet Muhammad said: "When someone enters the house and remembers Allah upon entering and when eating, then the devil will say to his companion: 'There is no place to stay and no dinner.' But if he does not remember Allah (by saying bismillah and don't forget to say greetings) when entering, then the devil will say: 'You have found a place to stay.'" - (HR. Muslim 2018, Abu Daud 3765 and others)
6. Reading Prayer when Closing the House Door
The next way to keep the house free from jinn disturbance is by not forgetting to recite a prayer when closing the house door. As explained in the following hadith: "Close the door and mention the name of Allah. Because Satan will not open a closed door (that mentions the name of Allah)." - (HR. Bukhari 3304, Muslim 2012 and others)
7. Removing Displays of Living Creatures
The following is the translation of the given 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "The house of Dream's friend should not display living creatures. If there are still any, then immediately remove them. This is to drive away the jinn from your dwelling. The Prophet Muhammad said, "Angels will not enter a house that contains statues and images (that are alive)." - (Narrated by Bukhari)"
