The head of the park guard, Teresa Power, expressed her hope that the birth of a François' langur monkey in Fota Wildlife Park on November 22nd will serve as a catalyst to raise awareness of the importance of conservation efforts for this species. It was explained that the wild population of François' langur monkeys is estimated to be around 1,400 to 1,650 in China and less than 500 in Vietnam.

Of course, the baby stands out from the other members of the group because of its bright orange fur, which is described by the park keeper as striking. The estimate that the baby's coat will change from orange to black in the coming months is part of the natural changes that occur in François' langur.
