Dream - Shawwal is one of the noble months in the Islamic calendar. That is why there are many recommended practices to be done in this month. One of them is getting married. Marriage is a lifelong worship that someone must do with pure intentions solely to seek the pleasure of Allah SWT. In fact, the Prophet Muhammad married Sayyidah Aisha in the month of Shawwal. Therefore, many Muslims follow his example to get married in this blessed month.
The following are some virtues of marriage according to Imam Al-Ghazali that you need to know as summarized by Dream through various sources.
Marriage is not a simple matter, but rather a very important act of worship. A man and woman who marry are not solely based on beauty or handsomeness alone.
However, it is a form of obeying the command of Allah SWT. With that, in the marriage, both can be together to carry out what becomes the law of Allah SWT. Marriage that hopes for the pleasure of Allah SWT, God willing, will be given peace and harmony in their household life. Even so, it cannot be denied that in carrying out the worship of marriage, there will surely be trials along the way.
That is a form of consequence that must be borne together. Husband and wife shoulder to shoulder find the best way out and solve the problem with the permission of Allah SWT.
According to Imam Al-Ghazali, there are five virtues of marriage that are important to be known by every Muslim couple.
The first virtue of marriage is to have righteous offspring. This is the hope of every couple. Where they can later give birth to righteous children. Therefore, it is important for parents to provide good education, including religious education from an early age. So that faith will be firmly rooted in the child's self until they grow up.
Marriage is a means to channel desire in a halal place. Because in Islam itself, adultery is strictly prohibited. Therefore, there is a command to get married so that someone can avoid adultery and can channel it in a way that is permitted by Allah SWT.
The following is the translation of the given 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any HTML tags: "The next advantage of getting married is to create inner peace in family life. Yes, every household certainly wants to have a peaceful and harmonious family. With that, life will feel comfortable to live. To create this inner peace, of course, it requires cooperation between husband and wife. For example, solving a problem together, so that the problem does not escalate."
Getting married is also a means to increase devotion to Allah SWT. In married life, every action taken is an act of worship. Whether it is the husband's treatment towards the wife or the wife's treatment towards the husband. Therefore, in carrying it out, it must be for the sake of Allah SWT. By doing so, rewards will also be obtained from Him.
The last virtue is to be rewarded for the effort in fulfilling the obligation of providing for the family. Seeking livelihood for the family is a form of responsibility to meet daily needs. Therefore, both effort and prayer must be done in balance.
Allah SWT said in Surah An-Nur verse 32: "And marry those among you who are single and also marry the righteous among your male and female slaves. If they are poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty. And Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing."
