The Philippine FDA does not approve glutathione injections as a high-dose skin lightening treatment. They also claim that it is unsafe and can cause serious health problems, such as Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS), Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN), thyroid gland disorders, kidney failure, severe abdominal pain, embolism, and sepsis.

White injections with vitamin C are also claimed to cause kidney stones, especially in individuals with certain conditions. Therefore, the use of high-dose vitamin C should be under the supervision of a doctor.

Meanwhile, chromosome white injections are often sold in package form on e-commerce platforms for manual injection. Chromosome injections function to inhibit the SLC24A5 gene, which is responsible for regulating skin color.

Damage to this gene can cause type VI albinism, which affects the eyes and skin. Moreover, the safety and effectiveness of chromosome white injections are not guaranteed. The price of chromosome white injections is also not cheap.

Therefore, it is advisable to use skincare products with safe lightening ingredients, such as glutathione, vitamin C, low-dose niacinamide, and BPOM-certified products, for safer skin brightening.
