Dream - The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) revealed that the number of delays in the departure of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to the Holy Land in the first week is still high. This condition mainly occurs on Garuda Indonesia airlines.
This was stated by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Anna Hasbie, who presented the evaluation results of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in the first week of the Indonesian Hajj pilgrims' flights to the Holy Land.
"During the first week, the percentage of Garuda Indonesia flight departures being delayed was very high, reaching 47.5 percent,"

Anne said that out of 80 Garuda Indonesia flights, a total of 38 departures experienced delays. Out of that number, 3 flight schedules were even delayed for 3 hours and 50 minutes.

The departure of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims has been going on for one week. The first group (kloter) was departed from several embarkation points on May 12, 2024. Until now, a total of 152 kloter have been flown from the Homeland to the Holy Land. Indonesia has a quota of 241,000 pilgrims this year, consisting of 213,320 regular Hajj pilgrims and 27,680 special Hajj pilgrims.
The regular Hajj pilgrims are flown by two airlines, Garuda Indonesia and Saudia Airlines.
The first airline will depart with 109,072 pilgrims grouped in 294 clusters. The remaining 260 clusters will be flown by Saudia Airlines.
"For Saudia Airlines, within this week, there has been a departure delay of up to 18.06% out of a total of 72 flights," said Anne. "The total delay reached four hours and seven minutes. I hope that the occurrence of delays can continue to be minimized," added Anna."
