"Dream - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) held the Commemoration of International Migrants Day 2023 at GOR Bumei Tuwah Bepadan, East Lampung on Monday, December 18, 2023. With the theme "Creative Empowered Indonesian Migrant Workers, Prosperous Families, Indonesia Jaya", the event was attended by 2,500 participants offline and 11 representatives from destination countries online."

The Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah, appreciated the selection of the location for the commemoration of International Migrants Day 2023, which is held in East Lampung Regency, Lampung.

According to Ida, East Lampung has long been known as one of the regions that is a pocket for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI).

"Alhamdulillah, East Lampung has set an example by providing services to Indonesian Migrant Workers. The province of Lampung has also provided its best services to Indonesian Migrant Workers. As a token of our gratitude and appreciation, we celebrate this International Migrant Day in East Lampung Regency," said the Minister of Manpower in his statement."

The Minister of Manpower stated that the commemoration of International Migrant Day 2023 is a manifestation of the government's presence as well as the highest respect and appreciation for stakeholders, both from the government, private sector, and society, who have made extraordinary contributions to the expansion of job opportunities abroad.

Meanwhile, the Acting Director General of the Development of Employment Placement and Expansion of Employment Opportunities at the Ministry of Manpower, Haiyani Rumondang, explained the reason for this year's theme, which is "Creative Empowered Indonesian Migrant Workers, Prosperous Families, Indonesia Jaya."

"Through this theme, the Ministry of Manpower hopes that workers placed in other countries are Indonesian Migrant Workers who possess competence."

"PMI is also expected to have the ability to work and strive to improve the economy and welfare of their families, which ultimately impacts the prosperity of the nation and the state of Indonesia."
