The mosque's management here does not ask for donations to build it, but 'sells' it.

Apparently, this is not the first 'sale' conducted by the mosque management foundation. In 2012, they sold it for Rp1 million per square meter. However, this mosque sale is not just like selling goods. The person who buys it will be given a waqf certificate.

They who have 'bought' the mosque do not immediately have a personal ownership of a part of the mosque because it is directly dedicated for construction. The management of Masjid Darus Sholihin explained that they intentionally carried out this 'sale' to attract the sympathy of donors as they have been unsuccessful in collecting funds for construction since 2010.

This is a management strategy as an attraction for donors who want to donate their wealth. "From the beginning, when I was appointed as the treasurer, I said, 'Don't build a mosque by begging on the streets.' Well, this is the strategy we use," said Fanani.

"Fanani said that since the beginning of installing advertisements in front of the mosque, at that time, they often received criticism from residents. In fact, many reported it to the authorities. However, after knowing the purpose of this 'sale', they instead helped to raise funds for the construction, reaching Rp 3 billion."
