However, the bomb threat on flight 1P 205 from Juanda Airport to Soekarno Hatta Airport was just a hoax. A passenger was jokingly carrying a bomb on the plane.

"We and the security team conducted an investigation and found that the bomb threat joke originated from a passenger on flight IP 205 named Surya Hadi Wijaya with seat number 14A. The joke was made while the plane was taxiing towards the runway," said Corporate Secretary of PT Pelita Air Service, Agdya P.P. Yogandari, in her statement."

"Pelita Air also took action in accordance with the established security protocols. The security team, in collaboration with airport authorities, conducted thorough inspections of the aircraft, passengers, baggage, and personal belongings, and declared them safe."

This rule is based on Article 344 letter e of Law Number 1 of 2009 concerning Aviation, which prohibits anyone from engaging in acts of unlawful interference that endanger aviation safety and air transportation, such as disseminating false information that endangers aviation safety.

According to Article 437 of Law Number 1 of 2009 concerning Aviation, Any person who conveys false information that endangers flight safety as referred to in Article 344 letter e shall be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of 1 (one) year. "We affirm that the security and safety of passengers and crew are the top priorities for Pelita Air," he said.

Agdya also ensures to always follow strict safety and security protocols and does not tolerate any potential disruptions to flight security and safety, and will take firm action against perpetrators.
