The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has decided to extend the registration period for subsidized LPG purchases using the national identity card (KTP) until May 31, 2024. The registration period for eligible community members to purchase melon LPG, which is done by showing their population identification number (NIK), was previously set to end on January 31, 2024.

"Until December 31, 2023, it turns out that the status is still as stated by Pak Dirjen (Director General of Oil and Gas Tutuka Ariadji), only 31.5 million NIK registered," said Mustika. The number of registrants for the 3 Kg subsidized LPG is still far from the quota of eligible people to receive it. Referring to data from the Acceleration of Extreme Poverty Eradication (P3KE), there are 189 million NIK eligible to use 3 kg LPG."

"To that end, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources ensures that it will continue to monitor the progress of the program and evaluate any shortcomings. 'We will see how the progress goes, but the main thing is that we will evaluate it later. The President's directive is to avoid shortages in the field, so we will evaluate it again later,' said Mustika."

"On demand means registering on the spot for a fee of 7.1 million (NIK) because why? Because they are not yet registered. So, it means that if there are people who come and their names are not on the checklist (registration list), they are allowed to register up to now, totaling 7.1 million (NIK). It will still be implemented on demand until our hope is that everyone can be registered," said the Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tutuka Ariadji."

"For users of 3 kg LPG who are not yet registered or want to check their user status, it is mandatory to register or check their personal data at the official sub-distributor/base before conducting transactions. As information, to register for the purchase of 3 kg LPG, individuals need to show their identity card (KTP) and family card (KK) at the official distributor/base. The eligible users of 3 kg LPG are households, micro businesses, targeted fishermen, and targeted farmers."
