Dream - The visit of Apple's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tim Cook, to Jakarta has become a hot topic. The world's smartphone brand boss even visited President Jokowi directly at the Jakarta Presidential Palace.
Minister of Communication and Information Technology Budi Arie Setiadi revealed that one of the topics discussed is investment. According to him, Apple is a company that will involve Indonesia as part of the global supply chain. "Apple is part of how our country attracts investment and attention for the advancement of technology in the future," said Budi Arie at the Presidential Palace quoted from Liputan6.com, Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
When arriving in Indonesia, Tim Cook also had the opportunity to enjoy Indonesian specialty food, namely chicken satay. This was known from his post on social media account (medsos) X.
"Hello Indonesia, how are you? Chicken satay with iPhone photographer Sofyan Pratama is the perfect way to start my time in Jakarta!" tweeted the Apple boss. "I hope to meet more Indonesian communities and creative developers while I'm here!" he said.
Apple is one of the largest technology companies in the world. The brand, founded by the late Steve Jobs, has a wide market share worldwide.
Cook joined Apple in 1998, after previously working at PC maker Compaq and for 12 years at IBM.
Cook has served as Apple's CEO since August 2011, or 13 years ago. Previously, he served as Apple's chief operating officer under the leadership of Steve Jobs. This 63-year-old man certainly earns a significant amount of money from Apple's electronics production.
Based on real-time Forbes data, Tim Cook's current wealth is US$2 billion or around Rp32.4 trillion (exchange rate of Rp16,234 per US$).
Forbes says, Apple is one of the most valuable companies in the world. Cook also owns more than 3 million Apple shares.
"With his wealth, Tim Cook became the 1623rd richest person in the world in 2024."
