The price of gold experienced a slight increase on Tuesday, supported by the weakening of the US dollar and a decline in Treasury yields. This sentiment arises amid anticipation of a possible interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve in the coming year, which affects the dynamics of gold prices globally.
The price of gold in the spot market rose 0.3% to USD 2,058.17 per ounce after reaching a high of more than two weeks at USD 2,070.39 in the previous session. US gold futures were little changed at USD 2,069.4.
"Quoted from CNBC, Wednesday (27/12/2023)."
"Post-Christmas, trading activities have decreased because some markets are closed due to the national holiday, which is expected to remain quiet during this short week."
“The main factors supporting gold are the dovish expectations of central banks and the decline in interest rates in the coming years. There is a possibility that gold could remain above USD 2,000 in 2024,” said Kinesis Money analyst, Carlo Alberto De Casa.
The translation of "Dampak Suku Bunga Amerika Serikat." to English is "Impact of United States Interest Rates."
"The decrease in US interest rates increases interest in gold bullion, which does not provide yield and is generally considered a safe investment during times of economic and geopolitical turmoil. Data released on Friday showed that oil prices in the United States fell in November, marking the first decline in more than three and a half years. This has led to a slowdown in inflation and heightened expectations for a Federal Reserve interest rate cut anticipated in March."
"Traders Predict a Decrease in US Interest Rates in March."
"Based on the CME FedWatch monitoring tool, traders are currently predicting a 90% chance of a rate cut by the U.S. central bank in March. The U.S. dollar index is nearing a five-month low, while the yield on 10-year U.S. bonds is declining. The weakness of the U.S. dollar enhances the appeal of gold traded against other currencies for investors."
