Happy World Hijab Day 2023, Peek into the History of Today

Dream - International Hijab Day celebration is created to oppose the discrimination faced by Muslim women who wear hijab in all aspects of life.

2023 marks the celebration of the 11th World Hijab Day with the theme 'Progression, Not Oppression' and the hashtag #UnapologeticHijabi.

Nazma Khan is the figure who initiated this global hijab day initiative. She has been a victim of verbal abuse for wearing a hijab. This woman from Bangladesh, who resides in New York, has also experienced discrimination since the age of 11.

Finally, World Hijab Day was launched to voice that hijab-wearing women have the opportunity to resist the discrimination faced by Muslim women who wear hijab.

Nazma also invites everyone from educational institutions, businesses, organizations, religious community members, or anyone else to participate in this world hijab day.

Enthusiasm of Hijabis on World Hijab Day with Dream

Dream - Commemorating the 10th World Hijab Day on February 1, 2022, Dream held the Proud to Wear Hijab 2022 event with the theme 'Be Proud to be Yourself' held at Mal Kota Kasablanka.

The event, which started at 10 a.m., was enthusiastically welcomed by hijabis. In the Joe&Dough area of Mal Kota Kasablanka, South Jakarta, many hijabis were seen queuing up to receive gifts from Dream.co.id.

Let's take a look at one of Dream's friends who received a sweet gift on World Hijab Day, named Lita. She received a gift that contained skincare products such as face cream, body soap, and hijab.

"I came at 10 a.m., I found out about this information from Dream's Instagram," said Lita.

This mother of two initially did not know that February 1 is International Hijab Day. Thanks to this event, she became aware.

"I didn't know at first, and I only found out when I saw Dream," she said.

Dream.co.id, together with sponsors, distributed 200 gift packages of body care products and hijabs to hijabis. This event will take place until 3 p.m. WIB.
