Touching Prayers in Ramadan

1. Prayer for Blessings in Ramadan

The first touching prayer in Ramadan is as follows:

اَللَّهُمَّ باَرِكْ لَنَا فِيْ رَجَبَ وَشَعْبَانَ وَبَلِّغْناَ رَمَضَانَ

Meaning: "O Allah, bless us in the months of Rajab and Sha'ban and bring us to the month of Ramadan." (HR. Ahmad)

2. Prayer for Lailatul Qadr

اَللَّهُمَّ إنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ كَرِيْمٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فاَعْفُ عَنَّا

Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun karim tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'annaa

Meaning: "O Allah, You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Generous, You love forgiveness, so forgive us, O Most Merciful." (HR. Tirmidzi)

3. Prayer after Witr Prayer

سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّْوْسِ

سُبُّوْحٌ قُدُّْوْسٌ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّ الْمَلائِكَةِ وَالرُّوْحِ

Meaning: "Glory be to You, O Lord, who has the holiness." (HR. Nasai)

"Glory be to You, O Lord, who has the holiness, the Lord of the Angels and the Spirit." (HR. Daruquthni)

4. Touching Prayer in Ramadan to be Recited Before Breaking the Fast

When it is time to break the fast, it is recommended to recite the following prayer:

 أشْهَدُ أنْ لاَإلَهَ إلاَّ اللهُ أسْتَغْفِرُ اللهُ أسْألُكَ رِضَاكَ وَالْجَنَّةَ وَنَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ

Meaning: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah, I seek Your pleasure, Your Paradise, and save me from Hell."

Narrated by Imam Bukhari and Muslim from Abu Musa Al Asy'ari, here is a prayer to ask for forgiveness for all types of sins that are suitable to be recited during the month of Ramadan:

اَللّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ خَطِيْئَتِيْ، وَجَهْلِيْ، وَإِسْرَافِيْ فِي أَمْرِيْ، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّيْ. اللّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ جَدِّيْ وَهَزْلِيْ، وَخَطَئِيْ وَعَمْدِيْ، وَكُلُّ ذلِكَ عِنْدِيْ، اللّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ مَا قَدَّمْتُ، وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ، وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ، وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّيْ، أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ، وَأَنْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ.

Allahummaghfirli khothiati wa jahli wa isrofi fi amri wama anta a'lamu bihi minni.Allahummaghfirli jaddi wa hezli wa khoto-i wa 'amdi wa kullu zalika 'indi.Allahummaghfirli ma qoddamtu wama akhkhortu wama asrortu wama a'lantu wama anta a'lamu bihi minni antal muqoddimu wa antal muakhkhiru wa anta 'ala kulli syai-in qodir

Meaning: "O Allah, forgive my mistakes, my ignorance, my extravagance in my affairs, and what You know better than me. O Allah, forgive me in my sincerity, my carelessness, my mistakes, my intentions, and all that is in me. O Allah, forgive me for all the sins that I have done and have not done, all the sins that I hide and show, and the sins that You know better than me, You are the One who brings forward and the One who delays, and You are Able to do all things."

6. Prayer for Forgiveness for Repeated Sins

It is not uncommon for us to make mistakes or commit sins repeatedly. In fact, humans tend to feel uncomfortable when making the same mistakes repeatedly, so some of us try to avoid them.

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ مِمَّا تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ عُدْتُ فِيْهِ وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ مِمَّا جَعَلْتَهُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِيْ ثُمَّ لَا أُفِيْ بِهِ لَكَ وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ مِمَّ ظَنَمْتُ أَنِّيْ أَرَدْتُ بِهِ وَجْهَكَ فَخَلَطَ قَلْبِيْ مِنْهُ مَا قَدْ عَمِلْتُ.

Artinya: "Ya Tuhan, aku memohon ampun kepadamu dari apa-apa yang telah aku sesali lalu aku mengulanginya, dan aku memohon ampun atas apa yang telah Engkau tetapkan namun aku tak melakukannnya, dan aku memohon ampun atas dugaanku terhadap-Mu yang membuat hatiku resah."

7. Prayer of Repentance of Prophet Adam (as)

Here is a heartfelt prayer in the month of Ramadan quoted from the repentance prayer of Prophet Adam (peace be upon him):

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ.

Artinya: "Ya Tuhan kami, kami telah menganiaya diri kami sendiri, dan jika Engkau tidak mengampuni kami dan memberi rahmat kepada kami, niscaya pastilah kami termasuk orang-orang yang merugi."

8. Prayer for Forgiveness from Excessive Actions

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ظُنُوْبَنَا وَاسْرَفَنَا فِيْ أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِيْنَ.

Artinya: "Ya Tuhan kami, ampunilah dosa-dosa kami dan tindakan-tindakan kami yang berlebih-lebihan dalam urusan kami dan tetapkanlah pendirian kami, dan tolonglah kami terhadap kaum yang kafir."

Here is a prayer for forgiveness in the next Ramadan:

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِإِخْوَانِنَا الَّذِيْنَ سَبَقُوْنَا بِالْإِيْمَانِ وَلَا تَجْعَلْ فِيْ قُلُوْبِنَا غِلًّا لِلَّذِيْنَ آمَنُوْا رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ رَؤُفٌ رَّحِيْمٌ.

Artinya: "Ya Tuhan kami, berilah ampunan kepada kami dan saudara-saudara kami yang telah beriman lebih dulu daripada kami, dan janganlah Engkau membiarkan kedengkian dalam hati kami terhadap orang-orang yang beriman. Ya Tuhan kami, sesungguhnya Engkau Maha Penyantun lagi Maha Penyayang."

Here is a heartfelt prayer to be recited when giving charity in the month of Ramadan:

إِنَّا تَقَرَّبْتُ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَتِقْوَى غَضَبَ رَبِّي جَلَّ جَلَالُهُ وَتِقْوَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ وَتَرَكْخُمَا عَلَى إِخْوَانِي وَشِلَاطَ الرَّحِمِ وَمُعَاوَنَةَ الضُّعَفَاءِ وَمُتَابَعَةَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِدْخَالَ السُّرُورِ عَلَى الْإِخْوَانِ وَدَفْعِ الْبَلَاءِ عَنْهُ وَعَنْ سَائِرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْإِنْفَاقِ مِمَّا رَزَقَهُ اللَّهُ وَقُهْرَ النَّفْسِ وَالشَّيْطَانِ.

Artinya: "Aku berniat (bersedekah) untuk mendekatkan diri kepada Allah, menghindari murka Tuhan, menghindari api neraka jahanam, berbelas kasih kepada saudara dan menyambung silaturahmi, membantu orang-orang yang lemah, mengikuti Nabi Muhammad SAW, memasukkan kebahagiaan pada saudara, menolak turunnya (kebahagiaan) dari mereka dan semua kaum muslimin, menafkahkan rizki yang diberikan oleh Allah, dan untuk mengalahkan nafsu dan setan."
