Child Addicted to Online Games Given Debit PIN for Emergency Conditions, Mother Shocked to See Remaining Balance of Rp2,000

Dream - According to their age, playing is the activity that children spend the most time on every day. The rapid development of the internet has undoubtedly changed this habit with the development of online games.

Children who are addicted to online games can spend all day just staring at their smartphones or other gadgets. This is what worries many parents when they see their children showing more interest in playing with smartphones than engaging in activities outside the house. 

The problem becomes serious when the child reaches the point of addiction. They seem unable to detach themselves even for a moment from their activities. What's worse, the child will do anything to satisfy their desires.

This is the condition experienced by a boy from China. In order to fulfill his addiction to playing online games, the 13-year-old boy dared to steal his mother's money in the savings account, amounting to Rp1 billion.

The mother only found out about the theft when the teacher said that her son was addicted to online games. Every day, he spends more time on his phone.

Upon learning this, the mother checked her account and was shocked to find that she only had Rp2,000 left.

Meanwhile, the savings balance that had been accumulated over the years had reached Rp1 billion.

In a circulating video, the mother can be seen flipping through the bank statement to detail every transaction her son made when paying for online games.

The child eventually admitted to his actions. He had spent Rp876 million to buy online games and paid Rp209 million to buy games for 10 of his friends.

“When they asked me to pay for their games, I paid even though I didn't want to,” said the young child in the video post.

The child admitted that he didn't understand about money and when he found the debit card at home, he simply used it. It turns out that the mother had told him the PIN as a precaution in case he suddenly needed money.

Who would have thought that the decision to give the child freedom to use money would end in vain.

The woman was unaware of every expenditure from her debit card because her child deleted every transaction record on his phone to avoid getting caught.
