Dream - Fajri, an obese man weighing 300 kilograms, has been lying in his bed for 8 months due to difficulty in moving.
This was stated by the Director of Tangerang City Hospital, Taty Damayanti. She said that Fajri has been lying on the bed for approximately eight months since his body started to get bigger.
Due to prolonged lying down, the medical team at the Tangerang City Hospital found an infection in the man's body.
"So before he could sit, he was lying down for 8 months. But before those 8 months, he was already obese, weighing 120 kilograms. There was a significant increase in the past 8 months, from 220 to 280," she said, as quoted from merdeka.com.
Therefore, the Tangerang City Hospital, with the help of 10 specialist doctors, is currently trying to reduce Fajri's weight by implementing several special treatments.
"We need to have a well-managed program in a stable condition. Currently, there are complaints of pain in the legs," she said.
According to Taty, Fajri also needs several medical steps to stabilize his weight and treat the infection on his body.
"The doctors who are treating Fajri are planning to perform digestive, vascular, and anesthesia surgeries," she said.
However, due to the limitations of facilities at the Tangerang City Hospital, the medical treatment for Fajri is planned to be carried out at the RSCM Hospital.
"Because our hospital does not have the facilities, we are planning to refer him to RSCM, but there has been no response from RSCM. So we are still treating the infection and providing nutrition," she said.
Nevertheless, she ensured that Fajri's condition is improving. The 27-year-old man is now able to sit on the bed with the help of a support device.
"Fajri can now sit, but he still needs support," Taty said.
Dream - Fajri, a resident of Pedurenan, Karang Tengah, Tangerang City, who suffers from obesity weighing 300 kilograms, was evacuated to the hospital on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.
The evacuation was assisted by firefighters and local residents who broke down the front door of Fajri's house where he lived with his parents.
After the front part was successfully broken down, the rescuers used a forklift to move Fajri from the house to a pickup truck.
Evi, one of Fajri's neighbors, described the daily life of the 27-year-old man at home. According to her, Fajri spends most of his time at home because of difficulty in moving.
"He just lies down all day, doesn't go anywhere, because before he became like this, he could go out on a motorcycle, he still had a girlfriend at that time. But after his girlfriend passed away, he became like this, just lying down at home, only ordering food. It seems like it has been a year since his girlfriend passed away," said Evi, as quoted from liputan6.com.
She said that Fajri's weight has rapidly increased in the past year. Moreover, during his time at home, Fajri only lived with his mother as his father had passed away.
"The evacuation process was hindered by the narrow road, and secondly, his body weight was too heavy, so we had to break down the door and lift him, and in the end, we used a forklift and then transferred him to a stretcher, and finally brought him to the Community Health Center (Puskesmas), and then referred him to the Tangerang City Hospital," said the Head of the Ciledug BPBD UPT, Mulyadi.

Dream - Another case of obesity has caused a sensation. This time, the sufferer is from Tangerang, Banten.
In a video uploaded on the Instagram account @lambe_turah, the obese man is seen being transported using a pickup truck.
The video then shows the evacuation process of the obese man, who is later known to weigh 300 kilograms.
Firefighters and healthcare workers are seen trying to evacuate the obese man to lift him onto the forklift.
Unfortunately, the firefighters and healthcare workers encountered difficulties in lifting the obese man weighing three quintals.
The obese man could only lie weakly on the floor of his house located on Jalan Griya Kencana, Ciledug, Tangerang.
Meanwhile, the firefighters and healthcare workers continued to make efforts to carry the man with all their strength.
It seems that the obese man has difficulty breathing every time he is lifted onto the forklift.
He even struggles when his body is lifted even slightly.
The firefighters and healthcare workers have to pause repeatedly before lifting him again.
According to the plan, the obese man will be taken to the Tangerang City Hospital for better treatment.
Previously, the obese man received treatment at the Pedurenan Medical Center, Karang Tengah, Tangerang.
This video of the evacuation of the 300 kg obese man has gone viral and received various comments from netizens.
"What was the process like before? It didn't become this big instantly... did he eat a lot?"
"I'm 68 kg and I want to cry to be 60 😢."
"Why did they start the treatment when his weight reached 300 kg? Why didn't they do it earlier when his weight was still below 150 kg/100 kg? 🤔."
"His life must have been really miserable 😓"
