First Time in Premier League History, Chelsea Will Hold Bukber at Stamford Bridge

Dream - To enliven the holy month of Ramadan 1444 H, the Chelsea Foundation will hold an iftar together at Stamford Bridge stadium for the first time on March 26, 2023.

Several local mosques and Muslim community members of Chelsea such as supporters and school students will be invited to attend, along with Chelsea FC staff.

This iftar agenda is in collaboration with the Ramadan Tent Project, a charity organization established in 2013 with a mission to unite communities and develop understanding of Ramadan.

The Ramadan Tent Project, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, also organizes an annual Ramadan Festival that features art, culture, and creativity inspired by the holy month of Ramadan.

Omar Salha, founder and CEO of the Ramadan Tent Project, said that over the past decade, the Ramadan Tent Project has connected and brought together more than half a million people from all backgrounds through the annual Ramadan Festival.

'We feel honored to bring Open Iftar to Stamford Bridge, on the occasion of our 10th anniversary," he said as quoted by Chelsea FC, Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

The Ramadan activities are part of the No To Hate campaign at Chelsea FC and the Chelsea Foundation, which is an equality and diversity program.

This program also aims to educate all stakeholders within and outside Chelsea FC and football. Promoting religious tolerance is one of the main focus areas of No To Hate.

Simon Taylor, head of the Chelsea Foundation, said that the iftar initiated by the Chelsea Foundation is the first in the Premier League club.

“We are delighted to announce our iftar together with the Ramadan Tent Project and we are very proud to be a Premier League club," said Simon.

He added that understanding Ramadan and the Muslim community is an important aspect for them in promoting religious tolerance.
