Love Letter from Mario Dandy to AG's Child Behind Bars: The Test of Our Separated Relationship and Longing

Dream - Defendant Mario Dandy expressed his apology to his lover, with the initials AG, for being involved in the assault case against David Ozora.

The apology was conveyed by Mario Dandy through his plea or defense note read in the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.

Mario Dandy apologized because his actions made AG experience the bitterness of being in prison.

"I also want to apologize to Agnes Gracia, especially to her parents who have given me their trust. However, because of my actions, I have caused such great disappointment," said Mario Dandy.

He admitted that he never imagined that his relationship with AG would end up in a criminal case. He also harbored longing for AG while in detention.

"I never imagined the relationship we had, facing such a heavy trial of being separated by distance and time and deep longing," he said.

Mario then recalled the beginning of the assault against David Ozora. Mario mentioned that he heard news of AG being sexually harassed by David Ozora.

"With immeasurable consideration, when I heard about the sexual harassment, I faced a deadlock that resulted in acts of violence. With deep regret, I never stopped praying for us to find strength in overcoming this difficult time," he said.

Mario also apologized to co-defendant Shane Lukas, who was also involved in this case. He claimed that Shane Lukas had no knowledge of the incident.

"I apologize to Shane Lukas, my friend who knew nothing about this issue but had to deal with the law. I never expected that my actions would put us in such a difficult situation," he said.

"I pray to God that we will receive a fair verdict in this matter," he added.

"On this occasion, please allow me to convey my heartfelt thoughts and feelings, which I wrote behind the bars of Salemba Prison," said Mario Dandy.

In his plea, Mario Dandy admitted regretting assaulting David. He apologized to David and his own family.

Unable to bear reading his plea, Mario Dandy's voice sounded faint. He couldn't hold back his tears when mentioning his parents.

Mario regrets that his actions of assaulting David Ozora had a significant impact on his family's life.

"I apologize to both of my parents, especially to my father, who was affected by my actions, which only made things difficult for him. Especially to my mother, who clearly experienced the bitterness caused by my actions," said Mario.

His father, Rafael Alun Trisambodo, had to face the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for having assets deemed unreasonable. Rafael Alun is now behind bars, just like him.

"Not a minute goes by without thinking about my parents who hoped their child would grow and develop for the better, but instead, I caused such deep wounds. I never stop regretting it, because of my actions, my mother has to fight for me and my father alone," he said.

Not only that, he also apologized to David Ozora's family for his actions. He admitted that he often prays for David's health.

"I always ask for forgiveness from God and pray for David's speedy recovery and good health. I believe that David's recovery can happen as written in the Bible. For nothing is impossible with God," said David.
