Moments of Plane Crash in Nepal, Passengers Allegedly Live on Facebook

Dream - Yeti Airlines plane with Kathmandu-Pokhara flight route crashed in Nepal on Sunday, January 15, 2023.

Yeti Airlines spokesperson, Sudarshan Bartaula, said the plane carried 68 passengers and 4 crew members.

As per the preliminary report, 67 people died in the incident. Gurudatta Dhakal, an official from Kaski district, has confirmed several passengers died in connection with this accident.

He also mentioned the presence of survivors. Meanwhile, local news agency reported that several bodies were found around the scattered wreckage of the plane with burned conditions.

"Officials have arrived at the scene and are trying to extinguish the fire. Currently, all parties are focusing on extinguishing the fire and rescuing the survivors," said Dakhal, quoted from NDTV.

The cause of the Yeti Airlines plane crash is still being investigated by the authorities.

A video allegedly recorded by one of the passengers before the plane crashed went viral on social media.

In the video uploaded by the Twitter account @thestatekhabar, it shows a Yeti Airlines passenger recording the situation inside the cabin until showing the view outside the plane.

When the passenger was live and showing the situation inside the plane, shortly after the video turned dark and fire was seen.

It is not known whether the recorder survived or became a victim in the incident.
