Mosque Has a Tradition of Inviting Children to Play After Tarawih Prayers, Even the Imam Joins In

Dream - Tarawih is one of the highly anticipated moments for Muslims during the month of Ramadan, especially for children. This is because they can meet their friends when they go to the tarawih prayer place.

Sometimes, they are more interested in playing than joining the tarawih prayer. So it is not uncommon for them to be scolded by other congregants who are praying.

However, it is different in one of the mosques in Turkey. Instead of being scolded, children are intentionally invited to play after performing tarawih prayers.

As seen in the video uploaded by the Instagram account @folkshitt. The recording shows the moment when the mosque imam is playing with many children inside the mosque.

This moment happened at the Haci Osman Torun Mosque, located in the capital city of Istanbul, Turkey.

The Mosque Imam, Mahmut Eroglu, said that such activities have been a tradition in several major mosques in Turkey for a long time. The aim is to instill in children a love for the mosque from an early age.

"Our goal is to make these children love the mosque, to plant seeds of goodness in their minds for years to come," he said.

In addition, he also believes that in the future, these children will continue to love the mosque, which will bring goodness.

"And I believe that our children will be the future, they will continue to love the mosque, the community, and the Qur'an, so that their souls will be more vibrant and healthy," he said.

Not only are they invited to play, but the mosque officials will also distribute various snacks such as chocolate and ice cream after they perform tarawih prayers.

Meanwhile, at the Hamdi Vami Mosque in Ankara, Turkey, they also do the same thing. They even provide a play area inside the mosque in the lower right corner of the stairs.

Just like what the Prophet Muhammad did to his two grandsons, Hasan and Husein, in a hadith narrated by Ibn Khuzaimah, it is told that when the Prophet was praying in the mosque, Hasan and Husein were playing and climbing on the back of the Prophet who was prostrating at that time.

Then there was a companion who wanted to reprimand the two grandsons of the Prophet, but the Prophet signaled to let them be.

This teaches us not to get angry when there are children playing in the mosque. Because we are afraid that the child will be traumatized and will not want to come to the mosque again.
