Hoping to change his fate by moving to Jakarta, this construction worker was hit by misfortune.

In a post on TikTok @cakwe.ngab, the account owner recounted his friend's experience of encountering a tragedy when he first moved to the capital city.

The friend who worked as a construction worker faced a test when his rented house was broken into by thieves. As a result, the only phone the man had was also stolen.

"Just arrived in Jakarta to work as a construction worker, his phone was already stolen in the rented house," the video caption reads.

Unfortunately, the man did not have enough money to immediately buy a new phone. He had to save and cut all his daily expenses.

The construction worker even divided the rice he bought so that it would be enough for breakfast and lunch.

"To quickly save money to buy a new phone, he bought one portion of rice but used it for two meals, half in the morning and the rest for lunch break," he said.

Nevertheless, the construction worker received support from his colleagues who voluntarily entertained him.

"I invited him to go to the lake so he wouldn't feel down, sometimes on holidays I invited him to watch football," he wrote.

After saving for a long time, he finally managed to buy a new phone. The moment of unboxing the new phone was witnessed by his friends. The happiness and emotion were clearly visible on the man's face.

"And finally, after a long time, when he was about to go home, the package arrived. He couldn't hold back his tears while being watched by the workers," he said.
