2. Surah An-Nas

قُلْ اَعُوْذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِۙ

Meaning: Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,

مَلِكِ النَّاسِۙ

Meaning: The King of mankind,

اِلٰهِ النَّاسِۙ

Meaning: The God of mankind,

مِنْ شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ ەۙ الْخَنَّاسِۖ

Meaning: From the evil of the retreating whisperer,

الَّذِيْ يُوَسْوِسُ فِيْ صُدُوْرِ النَّاسِۙ

Meaning: Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind -

مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ ࣖ

Meaning: From among the jinn and mankind.”

3. Surah Al-Falaq

The next short letter that can be chosen is Surah Al-Falaq. Here is the text of Surah Al-Falaq that you can read after Al-Fatihah during Tahajjud prayer:

قُلْ اَعُوْذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِۙ

Meaning: Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak (dawn),

مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَۙ

Meaning: From the evil of that which He created,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ اِذَا وَقَبَۙ

Meaning: And from the evil of darkness when it settles,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ النَّفّٰثٰتِ فِى الْعُقَدِۙ

Meaning: And from the evil of those who practice witchcraft when they blow in the knots,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ اِذَا حَسَدَ ࣖ

Meaning: And from the evil of an envier when he envies."

4.Surat Al-Humazah

Next, a short letter that you can practice during tahajud prayer is Surah Al-Humazah. This is the text of the nine verses of the letter:

وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍۙ

Meaning: Woe to every backbiter and slanderer,

ۨالَّذِيْ جَمَعَ مَالًا وَّعَدَّدَهٗۙ

Meaning: who collects wealth and counts it,

يَحْسَبُ اَنَّ مَالَهٗٓ اَخْلَدَهٗۚ

Meaning: he (man) thinks that his wealth can keep him alive.

كَلَّا لَيُنْۢبَذَنَّ فِى الْحُطَمَةِۖ

Meaning: By no means! He will surely be thrown into Hutamah (a blazing fire).

وَمَآ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ ۗ

Meaning: And do you know what Hutamah is?

نَارُ اللّٰهِ الْمُوْقَدَةُۙ

Meaning: (That is) the fire (of punishment) of Allah, [eternally] ignited,

الَّتِيْ تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْاَفْـِٕدَةِۗ

Meaning: [Its flame] reaches the hearts.

اِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِمْ مُّؤْصَدَةٌۙ

Meaning: Indeed, it (the fire) is closed upon them,

فِيْ عَمَدٍ مُّمَدَّدَةٍ ࣖ

Meaning: (while they are) fastened to columns extended.
