Viral WhatsApp Status of Police Officer's Sibling about Secondhand Imported Clothes: No Need to Buy Eid Clothes, There are Many Seized Items at the Office that Can be Taken Home

The WhatsApp status was uploaded by the Twitter account @txtdrstoryWA. The post shows a screenshot of a WhatsApp status of someone who is allegedly a police officer's sibling venting their feelings.

The woman appears to be happy because her sibling asked her not to buy Eid clothes and instead go to Dirkrimsus.

It turns out that the sibling wants their sister to choose her own Eid clothes from the seized items carried out by the police, including secondhand imported clothes.

Furthermore, the police officer also sent a photo of bags of seized secondhand imported clothes to his sibling.

Seeing the many secondhand clothes that can be chosen as Eid clothes, the sibling proudly states that it is the risk of having a sibling who works at Dirkrimsus.

"I'm really laughing, Aa said, 'No need to buy Eid clothes. There are many seized items at the office. Bring them home'. This is the risk of having a sibling who works at Dirkrimsus," the woman wrote.

Unexpectedly, the police officer's sibling's venting post backfired as it spread on social media. Netizens are now criticizing the police officer who distributed seized items.

Apparently, seized items should be destroyed, not distributed to family members.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metro Police, Kombes Trunoyudo Wisnu, stated that the writing cannot be held accountable and has a negative opinion towards the Indonesian National Police, particularly the Directorate of Krimsus. Trunoyudo ensured that the police will follow up on the matter.

"The Jakarta Metro Police will investigate it in depth through the investigation mechanism. In this case, it will be carried out by the Reskrimsus Division of the Jakarta Metro Police," said Trunoyudo, as quoted from liputan6.com, Monday, April 3, 2023.

"In fact, we convey that the seized evidence of illegal imported clothes secured by the police is a follow-up to the president's order," he added.

Trunoyudo ensured that the seized evidence is handled according to procedures and none of it has been released.

He also asked the public to trust that the Jakarta Metro Police is consistent and committed to carrying out the handling of cases in a procedural, proportional, and professional manner.
