"Because if this was legally excavated, the accessories would belong to the National Museum or the Bangko Sentral (Philippine central bank)," Roces wrote on Facebook.
She stated that many ancient graves have been desecrated when people excavate and take their ornaments.
"The victim of this fashion wears accessories to cover the mouths and eyes of the corpses, which number around 10.
"This means that the necklace is made from pieces of accessories from many corpses," added the Manila-based curator.
Roces also questioned Beauty's sense of style, which she considered as honoring the gold pieces of the ancestors.
"How can this be considered an honor, when what is visible is impunity and brutality? Negligence cannot be normalized," Roces expressed.
Beauty also faced the anger of Filipino social media users. Many reprimanded her for wearing archaeological artifacts that were 'plundered' and not respecting national treasures.
"Disgusting. Digging up artifacts of ancestors and turning them into jewelry instead of preserving their cultural value."
