"For cleaning the baby's ears, it is recommended to do it before bathing. This is so that after cleaning, the little one can be rinsed with water for a more optimal cleaning. Simply use a soft cotton ball when cleaning."

"Use cotton balls to clean the back and outer part of the baby's ears. Do not insert anything into the ears, including cotton buds," said Dr. Citra.

"In some children, earwax may appear on the outside, but there is actually no need to worry about it. Do not dig it out using cotton buds or other objects."

"The earwax serves as an ear filter, protecting against water, infection, trauma, and foreign objects. Along with a child chewing and talking, usually the earwax will come out on its own," said Dr. Citra."

Earwax only needs to be removed from the ear if it causes symptoms and should be done by a doctor. It is not allowed to do it yourself at home using a cotton bud.
