Livy Renata's Honest Reaction to Eating Dates for the First Time: 'Is This Candy?'

Dream - Livy Renata recently attended an iftar event and housewarming party hosted by influencer Fuji. In that moment, Livy tried one of the typical iftar dishes for the first time.

Attending the event with her friend, Livy admitted that it was her first time being invited to an iftar event.

Enjoying various iftar dishes provided by Fuji, Livy seemed interested in the fruit on the plate placed on the carpet for the invited guests.

"Is that a date, guys?" Livy asked the person recording her to create content, as seen in her YouTube video.

Livy's loud voice caught the attention of some women in front of her, as if they were being asked. One of Fuji's invited guests became curious because Livy admitted that she had never eaten dates in her life.

"Oh really? You've never eaten dates before?" asked a woman wearing a blazer who invited Livy to try it.

Making an invitation to try dates, Livy initially seemed curious and smelled the black fruit before eating it. She also initially thought that the date fruit was candy.

After taking a bite of a date, the Chinese descendant woman appeared surprised by the taste of the fruit. She also nodded when asked if the date tasted good.

"I thought it would be sour and not tasty," Livy honestly explained.

She also revealed that she had eaten a fruit similar to dates before. However, it was larger in size and did not have seeds inside.

"Does it have seeds inside (the date)? I don't think I have any," she said.

Livy Renata Invited by Jessica Jane to Eat Jengkol at a Street Food Stall, See Her Reaction

Dream - Jessica Jane invited Livy Renata to collaborate on creating content. They tried street food in the form of pecel lele (fried catfish with peanut sauce).

Jane, who arrived first, ordered several favorite menus at the spicy sambal stall in Benhil, Central Jakarta.

Jane ordered skin satay, fried chicken, fried catfish, salted fried squid, and fried peanuts. Jane also ordered eggplant, stinky beans, and jengkol (dogfruit).

Jess No Limit's younger sister asked Livy to try the menus she had ordered, including stinky beans and jengkol.

Unlike Jane who likes stinky beans and jengkol, Livy admitted that she doesn't like those two menus.

She admitted that she had never eaten jengkol before. Livy even thought that the jengkol in front of her was a potato.

"Jengkol, oh I've never eaten jengkol. I thought this was a potato," said Livy Renata.

Their Reactions to Eating Jengkol

When trying jengkol and stinky beans, Jane enjoyed it very much. She even called those two menus her favorite foods.

"Come on, Livy, try jengkol. Mmm, I really like it," said Jane.

"I tried one. But actually not that bad. But it's spicy, it's not good either," Livy said with an expression of dislike.

"It tastes weird when you taste it," said Jane.

Trying Stinky Beans

After trying jengkol, Livy Renata tried stinky beans. The 20-year-old woman admitted that she didn't know how to eat stinky beans.

Hearing Livy's words, Jane immediately peeled the stinky beans for the girl who was born in Jakarta on March 26, 2002.

"I don't know how to eat stinky beans," said Livy Renata.

"This is my favorite food," said Jane.

Then, Livy tried it and once again she didn't like the taste of stinky beans.
