Pinkan started her career in the Indonesian music industry after joining the duo group Ratu, which was formed in 1999. The group, consisting of Maia Estianty and Pinkan Mambo, achieved success in the music world through their first album.

However, unfortunately, in October 2004, she officially left the group and chose to focus on her solo career.

In 2004, Pinkan officially made her debut as a singer with a solo song titled "Cinta Takkan Usai" (Love Will Never End), composed by renowned musician Glen Fredly. 

First Album Release

Two years after her debut solo single, Pinkan Mambo's name became more recognized after releasing her first album titled "Aku Tahu Rasanya" (I Know How It Feels).

The album, which involved a number of Indonesian musicians such as Melly Goeslaw, Edi Kemput, Trie Utami, and DJ Sumantri, managed to penetrate the international music market in Malaysia and Singapore.
