4 Prayers for Ease in Finding a Livelihood, Efforts to Obtain Halal Sustenance

Dream - Getting a job that suits your desires is not easy for some people. There are many struggles and sacrifices that must be made to find the job of your dreams. Even when you have achieved your dream job, you still have to work hard to not be surpassed by better competitors. That is why we need to strive and pray to Allah to make it easier for us to find a livelihood. Additionally, we also need to pray to be facilitated in completing the tasks assigned by our superiors.

4 Prayers for Ease in Earning a Living, Efforts to Obtain Halal Sustenance

The following is a prayer request to ease one's livelihood that Sahabat Dream can practice to seek ease in finding a job and ease in carrying out tasks at work. This prayer can be recited after obligatory prayers or at other recommended times to pray, such as during fasting, between the call to prayer and the start of the prayer, and during the last third of the night.

1. Prayer for Ease in Finding Livelihood

Bismillahi 'alaa nafsi wa maalii wa diini. alloohumma rodhdhini bi qodhooika wa baarik lii fi maaquddiro' alaihi hatta laa uhibbu ta'jiila maa akhkhor ta walaa ta'khiiro maa 'ajjalta. Translation: "In the name of Allah, may You protect our selves, our wealth, and our religion. O Allah, be pleased with us in Your decrees and bless us in what You have ordained for us, so that we do not like what You hasten or delay what You postpone."

2. Prayer for Ease in Starting Work

"Rabbanā ātinā min ladunka rahmatan, wa hayyi' lanā min amrinā rasyadan (Surat Al-Kahfi ayat 10), rabbisyrah lī shadrī, wa yassir lī amrī." Translation: "Our Lord, grant us mercy from Yourself and provide for us a straight path in our affairs. O my Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] and ease for me my task."

اللَّهُمَّ يَاغَنِيُّ يَاحَمِيدُ يَامَبْدُئُ يَامَعِيدُ يَارَحِيمُ يَاوَدُّودُ اَغْنِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَاكْفِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سَوَاكَ وَصَلِّي اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَالهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلِّمَ

Meaning: "O Allah, O the Most Wealthy, O the Most Praiseworthy, O the Initiator, O the Restorer, O the Most Merciful, O the Most Loving. Suffice us with Your halal from the haram. Suffice us with Your blessings from other than You. May Allah bestow His mercy and peace upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad. His family and companions."

4. Prayer for Blessings from All Directions

"O Allah, bestow mercy upon our master, Prophet Muhammad, as much as the various forms of sustenance. O the One who expands sustenance to whomever He wills without limit. Enlarge and increase my sustenance from every direction and from the treasures of Your sustenance, without any provision from creatures, by Your grace and generosity. And also bestow mercy and peace upon his family and companions."
